Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of Rentaly’s accommodation marketplace. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Rentaly.
1. Rentaly’s role
Rentaly helps tenants discover accommodation and communicate with landlords or property agents. Rentaly is not a landlord, tenant, estate agent, party to a lease, payment provider, or guarantor of a listing unless expressly stated.
Users remain responsible for inspecting accommodation, checking authority to let it, reviewing lease terms, and obtaining professional advice where appropriate.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and promptly update information that changes. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
After Google verifies a new account, you must choose whether you are joining as a tenant, landlord, or property agent. Existing accounts keep their current role when linked to Google.
3. Listings and user content
Publishers must have authority to advertise the accommodation and must keep prices, availability, images, location, and material conditions accurate. Content may not be unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, fraudulent, infringing, or unsafe.
You retain ownership of content you upload and grant Rentaly a non-exclusive licence to host, resize, display, and distribute it only as needed to operate and promote the marketplace.
4. Viewings, leases, and payments
A viewing request is an enquiry, not a confirmed booking or lease. A lease exists only when the relevant parties conclude one directly.
Do not pay before viewing the accommodation and verifying the publisher’s identity and authority. Rentaly is not responsible for money paid outside the platform.
5. Acceptable use
You may not scrape the service, bypass access controls, upload malicious code, impersonate another person, harass users, misuse contact information, create duplicate fraudulent accounts, or interfere with the platform.
6. Moderation and account action
Rentaly may review, restrict, reject, unpublish, or remove content and may suspend accounts to protect users, investigate reports, enforce these Terms, or comply with law. We will act reasonably in the circumstances.
7. Availability and third-party services
The service may occasionally be unavailable or change as it develops. Google sign-in and linked external services are also governed by their providers’ terms and availability.
8. Disclaimers and liability
Rentaly does not guarantee that every listing, user, image, price, or statement is accurate or that a transaction will proceed. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.
To the extent permitted by law, Rentaly is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from user conduct, off-platform payments, leases, or accommodation supplied by another user.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled, including information used for accounts, listings, viewings, safety, and Google sign-in.
10. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Applicable consumer rights remain unaffected. We may update these Terms and will publish the revised date on this page.
11. Contact
